Daniel David Palmer discovered Chiropractic in 1895. It is a science, art, and philosophy of health. These days, the science and art are stressed and the vitalistic philosophy eschewed. Chiropractic philosophy is very simple as explained by Dr. Palmer: There is a Universal Intelligence (the mind of God, if you will) that expresses itself through the material universe. Each living thing is imbued with that intelligence which he called the Innate Intelligence of the body. In the human, the seat of Innate Intelligence is the brain which extends through the center of the spine and out between the vertebrae to every organ and tissue in the body where it exerts overriding control over them.
