In spite of all the sanitizing, sterilizing, and disinfecting that we have been doing, I decided to close the office until (hopefully) April 6th. This is unprecedented for me. The longest I have ever closed my office was for 9 days for my honeymoon in 1986. I have worked through Lyme Disease, a herniated disc in my neck, and various martial arts injuries. That is how seriously I am taking this pandemic. I am sure that it is not as deadly as the Spanish flu which killed my grandfather at age 22 in 1918, but it is certainly a lot worse than seasonal influenza and has spread far and quickly. I am certainly no fan of the government running our lives or arrogating power to itself. There has been too much of that to suit me. However, in this case they are doing the job that we hire them for: protecting the public. Although as a health facility the mandatory closings do not affect my office, I weighed the good I do for my patients against the possibility, despite all of our precautions, of spreading the virus to those particularly vulnerable and decided to err on the side of caution.
On the positive side, I will finally be able to spread some of the knowledge that I have accumulated over the past 40+ years via my YouTube channel. I am excited about that. In a way, I will have come full circle. My undergraduate degree, which I earned almost a half century ago was in radio, television, and film production. Of course, back then the technology that allows anyone to produce videos at home wasn’t dreamed of.
If you are in pain or need advice, do not hesitate to call the office. I live here, literally. I will return your call. Stay safe and be well. The virus and all the disruption will pass. In the meantime, take this opportunity to enjoy Spring!
If you are having an emergency and need a chiropractor immediately, call my good friend and colleague Dr. Ben Grisafi. I have known Ben for over 30 years and he has helped me recover from emergencies of my own. He is excellent and worth the trip up Germantown Pike. For an appointment call: 610-275-3355
